Nach einem Biologiestudium an der ETH Zürich promovierte sie im Bereich Entwicklungsneurobiologie. Es folgten diverse Weiterbildungen im In- und Ausland. Nach der Stelle als Forschungsgruppenleiterin am Biozentrum der Uni Basel arbeitete sie beim BAG und BLW, bevor sie die Leitung von Agroscope im 2018 übernahm.
